The Lake Avenue sewer project reclamation will begin, Monday, May 17th, 2021 and continuing for approximately 2 weeks. The City of Elyria has installed a new sewer line from the intersection of Lake Avenue and Griswold Road and continuing south on Lake Avenue for 600 feet. The road reclamation project will begin in both southbound lanes of Lake Avenue in the Griswold Road intersection. There will be single lane bidirectional traffic on Lake Avenue. There will be no westbound traffic on Griswold Road at Lake Avenue. Westbound Griswold Road drivers will need to detour south on Lake Ave to west on Albrecht Road to north on Murray Ridge Road to Griswold Road. Eastbound drivers on Griswold Road approaching Lake Avenue should also use Albrecht Road as there will be long delays and the intersection may be may be closed for a time. The Griswold Road and Lake Avenue intersection will be reopened to all traffic when safe to do so.
