Project Updates From The Engineer
Please note that all projects are weather dependent.
East Broad Street Project
Work continues on E. Broad Street. This project may continue into the winter months to complete water main and other underground work. After the water main install is completed, the project will break for winter. Project Completion is November 2024.
Cleveland Street Roadway Project
The contractor will continue to work on the south side of the road, performing concrete work until November 2023. Minimal work is currently anticipated through the winter months. Project Completion is November 2024.
ESRS
Work continues. Pipes will continue to be installed on Poplar St., Dilworth and Gulf Road. Pipe installation will move onto Gulf Road this week. Construction activities will greatly increase, so motorists are asked to slow down and pay attention when driving through this corridor. The restoration of the east part of Poplar St. will be complete by the end of next week. Total Project Completion will be late summer 2024.
West Avenue Resurfacing
Final asphalt paving will take place on Tuesday, October 10th (work was delayed due to an emergency sewer repair). Manhole and catch basin casting adjustments will be performed within the next 2-3 weeks. Temporary striping is anticipated.
2023 Street Resurfacing (Phase 1-Asphalt)
Wrapping up casting adjustments. Pavement striping is done. Signs are still in production. There is about a week or two worth of work left to do.
2023 Street Resurfacing (Phase 2-Concrete repair)
Ongoing replacement of concrete. Sawing, cutting, and concrete removal are in progress. Work will likely go into 2024 if the weather gets cold early.
Abbe Road South Resurfacing (OPWC)
Paving and shoulder improvements will be completed by the end of this week, weather permitting.
Chestnut Ridge Resurfacing (OPWC)
This will be completed at night. Milling will occur on October 22-23, paving on October 27-28, and manhole casting adjustments on October 31.
Foster Avenue Resurfacing (OPWC)
Work for this project to begin immediately. No schedule put in place yet. Pushing for a November 15th completion date.
Lake Avenue Resurfacing (OPWC)
Work for this project to begin immediately. No schedule put in place yet. Pushing for a November 15th completion date.
Lead Service Line Replacements
This project should be taking off soon. More information to follow.
Street Sweeping Round 2
Street sweeping began Monday, October 2nd.
