In partnership with Adaptive Sports Ohio, the City of Elyria is thrilled to bring a Paralympic Experience event to Lorain County Community College on Wednesday, October 9th. The event will feature multiple sports stations including Wheelchair Football, Rugby, and Tennis plus Blind Soccer, Sitting Volleyball, and Sled Hockey. The evening will culminate with a Celebrity Wheelchair Basketball game including Mayor of Elyria Kevin Brubaker.
“It’s been an honor working with Adaptive Sports Ohio to bring this event to Elyria,” said Mayor Brubaker. “The Paralympic Experience Day will showcase the adaptive sports athletes here in our community. This will be a real celebration of inclusion, teamwork, and talent. It’s going to be a blast.”
People with and without physical and visual disabilities are encouraged to attend and join the fun. Light refreshments will be provided by Blatchford Mobility and Jeremy the DJ will bring the music. WOBL will stream the event live on the City of Elyria’s Facebook page.
